• Question: How do you do your experiments and research on 'body shapes'?

      Hi Axy
      that’s a very good question….we scan people with a 3D scanner, which means taking a 3 D picture of their body. We can then measure very precisely their volume and the distance between specific points in the body…..then we use a different machine called bod pod ( looks like a space ship) and we measure the amount of fat in the body…finally we do an MRI scan on the volunteers…which is like taking an xray but inside the body….by combining all these measurements we can get a very good idea of the distribution of fat, muscles and bones in the body and make correlations with their health or disease!! pretty cool I think!!!
