Probably for human studies getting all the approvals and permission to start an experiment. If it involves drugs it needs permission from at least 3 different groups which can take a very long time.
Best thing is analysing the data from your experiment to find something new that you are the first to see

Like any job, there are certainly those days when you are under pressure with lots of things to do and for whatever reason experiments are not working how you’d planned and you feel like you are running out of ideas and ways to take the research. But in a weird way this also takes me into my favourite thing about science in that you are challenged to think your way out of lots of different scenarios. So i really like the problem solving aspect of the job and then there’s no better feeling than when something works really well or you see some great results from an idea that you had and tun put into practice.

My fav thing about sci is getting to run experiments in the labs with all the cool equiment that we have. The worst bit about it is having to read lots and lots of research papers before oyu can write about your work. I do learn lots of cools stuff from doing that though so not all that bad 🙂
