• Question: Why do some people get almost no spots and some people get loads?

      Good question! I think its a combination of things. Acne is caused by bacteria on the skin and i think some people have different amounts of bacteria and react differently to the bacteria.

      Yes agree with Andrew, our skin always harbours bacteria and for some people appear to be more “sensitive” to the bacteria. This can be due to some genetic factors. There are also hormonal factors here, this is why teenagers tend to have many spots but often after a year or two the problem resolves itself.
      There’s also diet factor. If you eat a lot of oily stuff like chips, that does not really help, but I know some people could eat a lot of chips and their skin is fine! Such is the difference.
