Headaches are caused by the blood vessels surrounding the brain swelling up and causing pressure. The brain itself does not get sore. Sometimes when we get a headache it is to do with the muscles in the neck and shoulder getting tight and putting tension on the connective tissue up into the neck and around the head. We can also get headaches if we are dehydrated as well.
