0 Question: Why does our stomach growl when we are hungry? Keywords: hunger, stomach Asked by Ben to Andy, Duane, Giovanna, Katie, Theresia on 17 Nov 2014.
Theresia Mina answered on 17 Nov 2014:
That’s the gastric making the movement trying to get ready to digest food, but it is empty. In other words it is “munching” empty air and creates the noisy growl as a result. Time to eat!
Duane Mellor answered on 17 Nov 2014:
This is the wave moving down our gastrointestinal tract, but this pushes air to make the noise of a rumble
