• Question: Why does your hair grow

      Not sure, it is possible that shorter hairs are programmed to grow only for shorter periods of time. The hair on our heads because of selection keeps growing for years so the hair on our heads appears to keep growing. All hairs fall out, so it is also possible head hairs in most people fall out less than the shorter ones elsewhere

      Hair, like all tissues contains cells which cycle between growth and death, constantly replacing old cells with new. So i would guess that hair growth is related to this continual replication. I’m not sure what would make hair in certain areas of the body grow more/faster than other areas, perhaps the hair cells in different regions have different growth cycles…..
