I never used to like behavioural science like psychology and sociology and preferred chemistry and physics. But, as I have done more work, I have started really appreciate and love all areas of science, as to understand people and health all are vital in my view
I was scared of organic chemistry, quantum physics, and theoretical mathematics as I feel sometimes my brain can’t cope with that but in the university I learnt to love them as I understand them better…still not the expert but happy enough they are not as scary as I think!
I was pretty useless at science in school and really struggled with Physics, found chemistry hard and biology interesting but confusing. If someone had told me then i’d become scientist i would have laughed out loud! Even at university i did not enjoy psychology or biomechanics. It wasn’t until i found something that interested me (exercise physiology) that i really engaged in science and discovered how much i liked it and that i was decent at doing it. So what i would say is you don’t have to be good at everything, you probably won’t like everything, but once you find that thing that fascinates you its great!
I like the area of sci that I study. I didn’t really like some of the topics we studied in Biology like plant biology but I enjoyed learning about the human body. I also wasn;t too keen on some the topics in physics that we did but loved chemistry at school. I am lucky to have found an area of sci that I really enjoy and is a little bit of all the subjects I liked at school 🙂
