• Question: Hello, are there more muscles that work when you smile or frown? Why?

      It depends how big the smile is, the type of smile and what you count as a muscle. Some muscles such as your bicep in your arm can be counted as 1 or 2 muscles (as it links to 2 points in your forearm).
      But, I think against what many believe as more parts of your mouth are moved a smile may need more muscles to work than a frown?

      I remember being told when little that you use more muscle to frown so it’s easier to smile 🙂 I don’t think there is a huge difference in the amount of muscles used between the two though to be honest.
