• Question: How did you first get into Science?

      at school I was always interested in the science subjects and any experiments we were doing at school I always tried them at home….the safe ones!!! When I had the opportunity to choose what I wanted to study after secondary school, I have chosen a scientific school (in Italy the school system is slightly different) where I could learn more about biology and chemistry……I went on to university to do more of it…. but it was not until I came to Aberdeen that I really understood what science and research meant…..I was working on how nutrients in the diet could change genes in the body…I was amazed that this was possible and just wanted to know more and how they were doing it….from then I kept going…

      It was school, my chemistry teacher Mr Spencer who did an amazing volcano reaction was I about 11 or 12
