Glands in our skin secrete water and salt, this evapourates to help cool our bodies

Sweating is a really efficient way to regulate our body temperature. We release water and salt though tiny pores in the skin. The water cools the skin and then evaporates. You can lose a lot of body water through constant sweating in hot environments, so there are some simple calculations you can make to then figure out the amount of water you need to drink to regain the water lost.
