Sleep, probably doesn’t make us tired, it is probably waking up at the wrong phase of sleep which means we are not quite ready to move

Sleep isn’t supposed to make us tired, it is supposed to refresh us. However if people don’t have enough sleep or don’t have good quality sleep they’ll wake up feeling tired.

You’ve probably heard people talk about light and heavy sleepers. This is normally a generalisation about how hard or easy it is to wake someone up. But it also a true event. Whenever we sleep we are going through continue cycles of light and heavy sleep. When we reach the heavy sleep zone that is when we typically dream and our body recovers and repairs itself. To get to this stage you go through a period of light sleep. In this stage it is easier to be disturbed and wake up, at which point you have to start the sleep cycle again. If you are constantly disturbed during the night and never get to the heavy sleep stage you will feel tired in the morning because your body hasn’t had much chance to recover in the heavy sleep phase.
