5 a day is a target for the general population and by no means a limit. Eating more than your 5 a day would not be a bad thing

Some studies also recommend to have 7 a day…if you manage 5 a day you are doing very well and for sure if you have more it is good too

5 a day is a guide for general health benefits. eating more is a good thing, and a variety as well as that way you get more vitamins and minerals than just eatng the same stuff all the time. I often eat a lot more than 5 a day!

The recommendations are for at least 5 a day, that means both vegetables and fruit. In some countries they recommend 7 or even 9, part of the challenge is what is a portion, in UK it is about 80-90g or a handful, it may be smaller elsewhere. There is not a limit, just try to eat at least 5 and as many different types as possible.
