In some inherited cases of diabetes, the sooner we can detect diabetes symptoms the better it is for the child’s welfare. When it is inherited, it is there from the day he/she’s born…or maybe before when the baby is still in the womb.. who knows?

No, neonatal diabetes which is inherited appears in babies.
Type 1 diabetes often is diagnosed in childhood
Type 2 diabetes is becoming more common in teenagers and is linked to genetics and lifestyle. Fortunately it is still rare

unfortunately no, as Duane said it is becoming more common for children to have type 2 diabetes which is the one related to life style, epscially if they are obese….cases of kids diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the age of 9 are not so uncommon…..not good!!!
