• Question: what is the difference between the small intestine and the large intestine?

      The small intestine comes first after the stomach (jejunum, duodenum and ileum) which then goes into the large intestine or colon.
      The small intestine is where the absorption of the sugars, fats and amino acids happens along with most of the vitamins. The colon is where the water and things like sodium are absorbed. The colon is where most of the bacteria are that ferment fibre and make wind!

      The small intestine is also longer about 3 m whereas the large one is about 1.5 m long….in the large one, water is absorbed and pooh are made!!!!
