When I have completed a project and its all done and dusted and I can show the results to people. I love working with my participants to collect the data and using all the fancy equipment, but until all thats done you can’t shout about it. A lot of research is kept hush hush until its fully completed so nobody else steals your ideas, especially if you are trying something new out!!!

My favourite thing about my job is that I work directly with groups of researchers across the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. It’s really cool to think that someone on the other side of the planet can read your work, have similar interests and do similar projects… Ultimately we are just all problem solvers, so research to me is a really interesting process. You identify the question, determine the best study to test this questions and then see what happens. We have huge amount s of trial and error but when something works, or doesn’t work its a really interesting thing to consider what it means and where to go from there…

Being able to share ideas and develop new ways of understanding how our bodies work. Everyday learning something new and challenging the way I think.
I also really enjoy working with students, to help them develop new ideas, often I learn most from talking and teaching students.
