These are where about half the nerve cells are in the brain. It is split into 2 hemispheres and many lobes. In humans, to increase surface area and potential connections between nerve cells it has a texture like a walnut.
To my understanding the cerebellum is the structure located at the back of the brain, underlying the occipital and temporal lobes of the cerebral cortex…it accounts for 10% of the brain volume and it is responsible for coordinating our movement…damage to it causes impairment in motor control and posture.
