The left ventricle as it needs to push the blood all the way around our bodies. The right ventricle cannot be too powerful otherwise it could flood our lungs with water.
The ventricles are the bottom chambers and have thicker walls than the atria, top chambers…the atria gets the blood from the veins and it is transferred to the ventricles , just below….so they do need to be so strong…..the ventricles, on the other side, need to push the blood all around the body via the aorta or to the lungs..the left ventricle has double the thickness walls as it has to pump blood all the way around the body, whereas the right one to the lungs….which are too far away!
