      From a biological perspective, it’s the effect of male hormones like testosterone on the hair cells in the skin. Basically changing small soft hairs into the thick hairs of a beard.

      In Novemeber many men grow moustaches for Movemeber to raise awareness and money for men’s health. I did that with I’m a Scientist winner from last year Prof Simon Langley-Evans.

      At the moment I have a beard as I don’t like shaving and it keeps my face warm
