• Question: why do some people have extra toes or fingers?

      The phenomenon is called polydactyly ……quite a difficult name which is derived from the Greek words fro many and fingers!!!! it is a congenital anomaly which means that during development of the baby in the womb of the mother some of the genes responsible for determining the number of fingers and toes do not work very well …the result is extra fingers or toes!!!
