Question: Why do we cry?

So releasing tears is a natural response that the eyes use to clean them selves and remove and dirt etc from the eye. As to why we also activate these with emotion is harder to explain and i don’t think entirely understood. I believe that we are the only species that have evolved to cry due to emotion.
