• Question: why do you get blind when you weld without a mask??? really bugging me i do not know if i should wear one

      Hello there!

      I think that the spark created during welding may cause temporary blindness as it’s so bright. I get that every time I walk pass someone who is welding. So I’d imagine you want to feel comfortable and safe from this bright exposure when you do your work. But really I think the mask is meant to protect you from the accidental hot spark that hits your eyes and faces! The spark is essentially liquid metal… and our skin is not meant to tolerate this. Because it’s so hot it could burn your skin and may create long-lasting scar/ damage. So you don’t want that and it’s better be cautious and wear your mask 🙂
