Hi Sasha masha, fruits and veggies contain lot of fibres as compared to meat. We need fibre to improve our digestive system, the fibre helps the intestine to absorb the nutrients from other food source effectively. Fruits and veggies also have a lot of vitamins and minerals and meat and rice/ pasta may not provide.
The idea is that fruit and veg is lower in energy than other foods so can help us to manage weight. Also there is evidence to say that they can reduce our risk of cancer and heart disease
